After spending six fantastic days in Roma in Massimo and Biancamaria's beautiful apartment in via di Chiavari (see Rome-is-Home), we headed off to Sutri where they live along with their delightful and talented seven year old daughter Delfina. Attached to the house is a self-contained apartment, which is ideally suited to a couple. The bedroom with double bed, lounge room and kitchen are open plan and there is a fireplace for those colder months. There is also a small study next to the bathroom which is very convenient for storing clothes and suitcases.

The house is in a rural setting with views across the fields and hills. It is located about five minutes drive from Sutri.

Sutri is in a great location not much more than an hour north west of Roma, close to some lovely forests and lakes and many wonderful medieval villages. The towns and villages in the area had different feel to the typical pristine Tuscan village, more lived in and less tourists. I would definitely recommend having a car so you can make the most of the area.

One of the best things about staying in Massimo, Biancamaria & Delfina's apartment is Massimo, Biancamaria & Delfina, they are very warm and generous and are happy to share their time and local knowledge and make suggestions on places to visit etc. but at the same time respecting their guests privacy. Make sure you ask them about lunch at Lago di Vicolo, it’s a must.
