2bed/2bath house near Greve in Chianti, Tuscany Chianti WhenJune 2002 , 1 week LocationThis is a beautiful farmhouse on the top of a hill with a gorgeous view of olive groves on one side, a vineyards on another, and a medieval church. It is a short 30 minute drive into the city of Florence (20 minutes if a native Italian drives you). There are no other buildings around. It is truly private and yet close enough to a small town so as not to feel isolated. Absolutely beautiful. Nearby AmenitiesIt is a 15 minute walk to the little town of Chiocchio for coffee or groceries or a drink and dinner but for more dinning choices and lots of shopping go to Greve in Chianti or of course Florence. The House/ApartmentThis is an historic, renovated, 1693 farmhouse. Truly beautiful, and in excellent condition. Outdoor patio just off the kitchen. Living and sleeping is one flight up. GardenNot only is there an outdoor patio but take a book and go sit in the shade of the olive trees and enjoy. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe furniture was nice and plentiful. The house was professionally cleaned before we arrived and stayed as clean as WE kept it. It was to be cleaned for the next client when we left. Bedrooms/BathroomsAll beds were comfy (we tried them all at one time or the other since there were a few of us with children). Nice baths and you can see a castle from one of them. KitchenOf course!!!! It was a kitchen in Italy!!! The most important room in the house!!! Fully equipped, however, being so close to other places we went out to dinner a lot. Problems or BonusesNo bad surprises. We have only good things to say about our experience. Agency and Representatives (and price)Treated very well by Rita and Leno. They were very knowledgeable and helpful. Both speak English and Italian - Rita is an American. The reality of the house was better than the Internet pictures. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?I would stay again and intend to go back. I would unqualifyingly recommend it to friends. Things to do in this areaWe went to Florence three days - not enough - it is too beautiful. Went to Pisa, Lucca and Siena also too beautiful for just one day.
