Being a skeptical person and a natural worrier, I didnít want to get my hopes up too high while reading all of the glorious reviews of Podere Le Manzinaie. I actually stopped reading any new reviews prior to our departure because I didnít want to be disappointed if it wasnít as lovely as described. Immediately upon arrival, I knew my fears were unfounded! We fell in love with the villas and the area immediately. Fiore, Marzia and Alice, the owners and operators, are as wonderful in person as they appear in all of the reviews and in their email correspondence. We felt like family from the first moment.

The Villa. We stayed in their new villa (Iris) that sleeps five (3bed/3bath). It has a master bedroom on the first floor with a big bathroom. Also on the first floor is a kitchen, eating and sitting areas. Second floor had two bedrooms, one with a double bed/bath and one with a single bed/bath. Perfect for our family of three adults and two kids. Our friends stayed in the other villa (Viole) and also the Rose and Glicine apartments. All were beautiful, clean, ample in size and unbelievably well maintained.

The Common Areas. Beautifully and meticulously maintained. The attention to detail and the obvious love and pride of their property is evident everywhere. There is a lovely area to have dinner, use of a grill that Fiore is only too happy to help get ready, and of course, the beautiful, large pool. We were with three other parties and the pool was a great place to congregate and let the kids swim! Fiore also has a garden that we were told to take whatever we needed! I wish we were there for tomatoes!

Weekly Dinner: OK, this was fabulous! Since we were a large group altogether (13), it was hard to have that small, intimate dinner in any restaurant. We had some nice meals but nothing compared to what this family cooks up for you! We had an absolutely perfect evening sharing some of the best food Iíve ever eaten and getting to know our hosts and the other guests on a more personal level. Itís what you dream of when you think about what your Italian vacation might be. Also, we had a cooking lesson later in the week that was so much fun! I almost donít want to say too much because you need to live the experience yourself!

Overall, we found Le Manzinaie to be the perfect place for our family and extended family (four groups in all) to meet and enjoy the Italian countryside together. What is great about this place, as opposed to renting one large villa, is that we could all spend as much time (or as little) together as we wanted because we could always ďescapeĒ to our own villa. The common areas are ideal for large groups to spend time together. The family makes themselves available at all times to meet any needs you have. Fiore will also surprise you with drinks at the pool or cappuccino in the morning. We definitely feel like we experienced something special here. Not only did we have a great vacation, but we made some wonderful friends.
