apartments near the Ponte Vecchio, Florence WhenJune 2008, 3 nights ReviewI just recently returned from a three night stay in Florence. Four of us stayed in an apartment on via Delle Terme; it was a great location. We booked through Florenceby.com, very convenient, used credit card. The rental agency was called "Residence la Torre", the apartment was "Santo Spirito." We first went to the rental office a few streets away to get keys and sign in. They told us the apartment was not ready, needs to be cleaned and will be a couple of hours. After putting up a little bit of a fuss, they got it ready in one hour, not a problem. For that hour they held our bags and we explored a little. The apartment has one bedroom, decent size with comfortable bed and window, living room has sofa bed, slightly broken, not so comfortable, nice bathroom (no toilet seat) with towels, but ran out of toilet paper, and a kitchen with table and nice window overlooking the small street we were on (via Delle Terme). The bedroom and living room had air conditioning units but the living room one did not work very well and by the third day the bedroom one was leaking on the floor. But they did get us through the three days of brutal heat. The apartment was clean, even the kitchen and bathroom. The cost was very reasonable - €110 per night in the third week of June. One of the only problems was the very early morning noise from the street below, vendors wheeling their carts on the cobblestones woke us every morning. No fault of the apartment, but if that would be a concern ask for an apartment away from the street. We were on the second floor (Italian) with no elevator, tough for us older people, not so bad for the younger ones. In conclusion I thought this was a pretty good deal, low price, great location and pretty decent inside. You can view the property directly: Residence La Torre.
