Review 3670: Owner, Behind the Tower

Review by Tom B from

1bed/1bath apartment in Pisa, Tuscany West

24th June 2008, 7 days

The Behind the Tower apartment is just around the corner from the Piazza Miracoli in Pisa which has the Duomo, Baptistry, Compisanta and the famous Leaning Tower, about four minutes walk. Another similar walk brings you to the Botanical Gardens and there are many good restaurants in the immediate area.

Nearby Amenities

The nearest supermarket was across the road and was quite large and comprehensive. Many decent restaurants within a kilometer. The nearest train station was two minute walk for trains to Lucca.

The House/Apartment

The apartment was first floor of an old building with its own front door. The general condition was good, and the fitting out comprehensive. One large double bedroom and a comfortable futon in the lounge/diner.

The only outside space was a small balcony overlooking neighbours gardens, with a clothes line for washing.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

Although not new, the furnishings were in good condition and the apartment was clean, tidy and the smell was good when you walked in. Ample space for four in comfort.

The bed was large and comfortable, the bathroom spacious with an excellent shower.

The kitchen was comprehensibly supplied and had a gas hob with electric oven. Recommend if you like real coffee to bring filter papers as a coffee machine supplied but the supermarket did not have this item. We were O.K. as there was also an espresso maker! All items were in excellent condition, no chipped crockery or damaged pans.

Problems or Bonuses

The really nice start to our holiday was being picked up at the airport by Marcel and Gloria, it meant a stress free beginning to a good break.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

Marcel and Gloria were excellent and gave great value and advice to make every thing easy.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

We would stay again, a bit noisy being in a central position but the double glazing coped. Yes, we would recommend it.

Things to do in this area

A place for promenaders, as there was no need for taxis for a good night out.
