Location

Excellent location in the San Pelligrino quarter of Viterbo. The street it's on is really just a walking lane with lots of steps. All the houses are right up against each other in this area.

Nearby Amenities

Yes -- you could walk to lots of great places.

The House/Apartment

The house was in good condition except for the horribly pervasive stink of mold and mildew.

Main floor has kitchen and dining/sitting area and small bathroom. Up a little spiral staircase is a loft where kids could sleep. Downstairs is a really nice bathroom and decent sized bedroom with large bed but very poor ventilation.

Garden

No garden.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

Furniture was a mix of IKEA style with some older pieces.

Kitchen

Kitchen is very basic.

Problems or Bonuses

Big, bad surprise was the smell. After 10 minutes we looked at each other and said "We cannot stay here!" I think the place is literally toxic.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

Sylvia, the owner is from Ireland. She was absolutely wonderful to deal with. And she refunded our money minus the transaction fees for foreign exchange. We were really lucky she was so honest and understanding. She knows she has a problem with drainage there. If she ever gets it fixed it would be worth returning.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

I hate to say this, because the owner is so lovely, but I would never consider staying there again, for even 15 minutes.
