Review 3741: Tuscan Villas, Collesotto

Review by Charlotte5791 from US

2bed/2bath house near Montelupo Fiorentino, Tuscany Chianti

June 14th - June 21th 2007, 1 week

This review is for the Villa Colesotto where we stayed for a week last summer, on June 14th to 21 st 2007. We had a great time, starting with the warm welcoming with a basket with local products and fresh fruits. The grounds are stunning, with breathtaking views. It was particularly nice having our own pool even if we were just four.

The villa is well maintained, very clean, brand new kitchen equipments, TV and Internet access available for free, which was great to be in touch with our relatives and also to look for tours, museums, restaurants, etc. The owners were very helpful with this, they have a book with much information about local bike rental, close by towns, museums, wineries, massages and much more.

We were surprised by the excellent meal the owner has prepared at home and offered us one evening. It was home made pasta, their local vegetables, their own extra virgin olive oil and a delicious home made cake prepared specially for us.

It was really pleasant to have a hydromassage in the pool's Jacuzzi with the stunning views right in front of it, and also to have breakfast in the terrace which overlooks the stunning landscape.

We rented a car and consider it was the best choice of transportation to discover local small villages and drive through secondary countryroads. But close to the villa there was a train station with local trains into Florence. We visited Vinci and Castelfiorentino, two lovely towns within short distance from the villa. It was an easy drive into Pisa, Lucca and Siena. One week was not enough to do a half what we wanted to do.

We enjoyed so much Collesotto and its really accommodating host, Francesca. We highly recommend this villa for those who are looking for high quality service, privacy, nature and at the same time, staying close to a fantastic city like Florence.

You can view the property directly: Collesotto.
