5bed/4bath villa in Castelmuzio, near Pienza, Tuscany South WhenSeptember 28th to October 5th, 2002, 7 days LocationIn a village called Castelmuzio, very pretty. Nearby AmenitiesNearest small local supermarket was about 5 mins walk. The House/ApartmentThe house was georgous, we were all very impressed. Lovely decor, very clean and tidy. Nicely stocked book shelf, with some games too. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasI really don't think I can fault it. (maybe some larger tea cups ... if thats anything) There was a lovely large dining table that seated 10, we spent most evenings around the table, drinking the local wine! Lots and lots of Antipasti. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe bedrooms were very nice and comfortable. KitchenWe did a lot of the cooking, we actually had 11 people and there was enough of everything. Lots of serving dishes etc. There were also some condiments that were left by previous guests, which was helpful, we did the same and left some items as well. Problems or BonusesOnly one. There was one day that we were out of water, little bit of a pain, but not a major. The weather was not quite as hot as we expected, however we were told it was usually a lot hotter. The days were warm though. Agency and Representatives (and price)No complaints, professional, helpful and friendly. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?I would definately stay again, and so would the rest of the party I was with. I have also recommended the villa to a few people already. Tuscany and this Villa ... definately a must. Things to do in this areaWe ate in the local pub, lovely meal with good prices. We also ate in a restaurant down the road (can't remember the name) very nice meal and again prices were good. The rest of the time we cooked at the Villa. We went to Florence, Siena, Pienza ... can't remember all the places ... went to a winery on the way back from the monastry (Sant'Anna, where the english patient was filmed). Tuscany is a very beautiful place, I did not see anything I would NOT want to see, very clean and picturesque. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
