apartments in San Polo, Venice WhenSeptember 2008, 3 nights LocationWe expected to be staying in another apartment. when Marco directed us through the door at the far side of the court, I was sure something was up. I kept thinking we are too close to the water for this to be right. But it turns out they had substituted the Tiepolo (1bed/1bath) with two large windows out on the grand canal for the Valier (see other review). Great view! It's really unbelievable. A room in a hotel like this would cost close to a thousand/night. (OK so you have an elevator and room service and a fancy name) Nice modern bathroom. Photos on web accurate. Great location, very quiet. close to traghetto to San Marco (50 cents!), adjacent to San Toma Vaporetto stop great romantic/honeymoon place! This place might seem like it would be too loud (vaporettos/barges etc.) but it isn't. Will go here again! Nearby AmenitiesCoffee and groceries were very close. Within 200 meters everything you need. The House/ApartmentEverything in good shape. Yes the building is historic but I'm not sure. Look on their website. GardenNo outside area but you're on the Grand canal! Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe furniture very nice, comfortable. The bed was a little too soft. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe bed/bath were modern. This place is for two people. KitchenWe did not cook anything except my wife 's tea. There was adequate cooking facilities and things of good quality to cook with though. Problems or BonusesWe were surprised to have the Grand Canal right there, I mean right there! Agency and Representatives (and price)Direct booking with owner. We paid with Paypal.
