2bed/1bath apartment in Spoleto, Umbria

When

August 2008, 1 week

Location

Terrazza Bella was located on the main street in the town of Spoleto. This is an EXCELLENT location - in pretty town, the front faces the main street, but it is not noisy! The other side of the apartment faces the Umbrian countryside - beautiful, peaceful view. HUGE terrace - lots of room for everyone, all your "stuff!" Easy to walk to restaurants, shops, grocery store, bus. Owners the nicest people we have ever met! Will pick you up from train station, take you to get your rental car ... all amenities top notch!

Nearby Amenities

Everything is in walking distance! GREAT restaurants, shops, grocery stores, coffee shops!

The House/Apartment

The building is historical - from the 16th century, I believe. We awakened every morning looking at the beautiful painted ceilings. I felt like a princess in a fairy tale! Apartment VERY peaceful. We were actually initially concerned about it being on the main street, but the apartment was blissfully quiet, yet we were only a few feet from all the action in town! About 10 other apartments in the building - not too many! Parking was exceptionally easy - right behind the apartment, along the town walls!

You can view the property directly: Terrazza Bella.

Garden

The sitting area on the terrace was outstanding! Peacefully, gorgeous flowers, picnic table with umbrella, several lounge chairs, BBQ grill! This was our own, private terrace. There were three local pools that you could easily reach by the local bus. We went to a local swim club via the bus and it took about 10 minutes. The pool club was outstanding - a truly local Italian pool! They had a large pool and a children's pool as well as a bar, big slide into another swimming pool, volleyball, foosball. Bring a bathing cap!

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

Apartment was in EXCELLENT condition! There was a leather couch and love seat in the living room - very large and comfortable. Plenty of chairs in dining area. Beds (king and two twins, but could also have been made into two kings) were comfortable and sheets very nice cotton bed coverings. Great condition of all items - had EVERYTHING we could ever possibly need. Well stocked on our arrival with juice, bread, cornetti, Hero brand jam, pasta, pasta sauce, wine!

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

Bedrooms were lovely - comfortable, clean, beautiful.

Kitchen

We cooked many, many meals - breakfast, lunch, dinner, appetizers, etc. ... quality and enough of all utensils, pots, dishes, forks, etc.

Problems or Bonuses

We were surprised at how accommodating and kind the owners were! They have rented apartments for many years and truly LIKE what they do! The quality of furnishings exceptional.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

We were treated GREAT, GREAT, GREAT!!! They are from England, so they speak English better than us! The reality of Terrazza Bella was better than the photos! We stayed in August 2008 and paid 690 but we had booked early and so got a better deal!

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

Absolutely stay here again ... is tomorrow to soon to go back?!

Great area of Umbria to explore Umbria, Tuscany, and even went to the beach at San Benedetto!

Things to do in this area

Gelato at the Gelateria down the main street on left in Piazza Garibaldi.
