1bed/1bath apartment near Piazza Navona, Rome WhenOct. 22-28, 2008, 6 nights LocationThe apartment is located very near the Chiesa Nuova and within easy walking distance of the Piazza Navona, the Campo Dei Fiori, the Pantheon, and the Vatican. Since Rome is a walking city, it can be considered to be within walking distance of just about everything, but there are bus stops very conveniently located if one wishes to use public transportation instead. Nearby AmenitiesThe was a small supermercato down the block, a laundromat about 1/2 block away, money machines very close, a restaurant with great pizza (Il Corallo) next door and many other great restaurants within a five minute walk. The House/ApartmentThe building is a 17th century palazzo, and it looked as if many of the other apartments were also being restored. This apartment is very modern and has an up-to-date bathroom and kitchen. There is a living-dining area with a small kitchen, a bathroom and a bedroom in the rear. This bedroom, because it is in the rear, does not get the street noises. GardenThere is no outside area. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe furniture was in great shape and comfortable. The place was very clean and had many decorative features including paintings and knick-knacks. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe bedroom was very comfortable with lots of drawer and closet space. The bathroom was very comfortable with a shower, no tub. KitchenThe kitchen was very well equipped and easy to use. There were lots of dishes and pots and plenty of hot water. Problems or BonusesWe really enjoyed this apartment and were surprised at just how well located it was to everything in the Centro Storico. Agency and Representatives (and price)We were very well treated by the owner. Carmen has her place of business directly across the street so is readily available. She speaks some English but co-manages the apartment with her friend Mirella who is fluent in English. Carmen was also very helpful in arranging a car to take us to the airport early in the morning. If we would have chosen to do so, she also could have set up private tours for us. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others? We would recommend this apartment highly and would stay there again the next time we are in Rome. The location was wonderful and we were very comfortable. Things to do in this areaThe next door restaurant Il Corallo was very good as was Antica Taverna which was 1/2 block away. It was very easy to walk anywhere from the apartment or very simple to take the bus when we needed to do so. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
