1bed/1bath house in Civitella Marittima, Tuscany West When10-25-2008 till 11-01-2008, 7 days LocationThis location is perfect for people looking for rest and a very friendly village. The very little village of Civitella Maritima is a wonderful village with very friendly people. Without a car there's not much to do. In the neighbourhood there's so much to see and do. You can reach the house very easily. Nearby AmenitiesThere are a few shops for your daily needs. The local restaurant is surprisingly good. You have to have a dinner here. The House/ApartmentThe house was in very good shape. Everything was there and everything was very clean. It's a small house, but if you were with just two persons it's so lovely and very romantic. There's a small kitchen which is also your dining room. In the room there's a very good open fire, which we used every day. There's a satellite television in the kitchen which has mostly German channels. The bedroom has a very big twin bed that sleeps perfectly. There's a big wardrobe. The living room houses two small couches and a bookcase with a lot of useful cooking and travelling books. GardenThere is a little outside area, but don't expect to much of it (plastic chairs in front of the front door). We didn't sit outside because of the outside temperature in October. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasEverything was is perfect shape. The bed was big and gave us such good sleeps. All the furniture was good and big enough for two persons. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe bedroom was good. Because the village is really quiet, and the bed and pillows very comfortable, you would have a good sleep in here. The bathroom is small, but OK. Not very luxurious, but that's not what we were looking for. The hot water tap was not very strong. KitchenThe kitchen was very good. We like to cook ourselves and try traditional Tuscan dishes. Because we brought some good cooking books and there were a few in the house, we could prepare several good meals. Everything a cook needs is available. We couldn't find a (milk) mixer. Problems or BonusesWe were surprised that a lot of things were already in the house, that we didn't need to buy. Like coffee, tea, sugar, herbs, spices, washing powder et cetera. Agency and Representatives (and price)The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. You can call them any time you want to ask for information. Their English is superb. Everything was as it was mentioned on the website. Their was actually more privacy than we expected. We paid €350 for one week. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others? We would really stay here again and recommend it to a friend. Actually we already did. Things to do in this areaWe arrived in the house after a three day stay in Firenze. From Civitella Maritima we visited Grosetto and Siena, but mostly the tiny villages and the wonderful forests in the direct neighbourhood. There are very good bus connections. Our train experience wasn't very good. We had to wait at the train station for 2.5 hours to catch a bus that brought us back home.
