apartments in Dorsoduro, Venice

When

September 16 - 18, 2002, 3 nights

Location

This apartment is located in a house in the Dorsoduro area. It is divided up into 4 or 5 apartments. It is on a small canal close to the Saute Vaporetto stop. The area is quiet and residential but close to San Marco Square.

Nearby Amenities

The apartment was a 5 minute walk to the local shops and a 15 minute walk to the Supermarket. (My kids loved putting on the gloves choosing and weighing the produce.) Many restaurants are located in this area.

The House/Apartment

The building is very old and well kept. It is filled with antiques. Very beautiful!

Garden

No garden.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The furniture was in excellent shape. The owner is very particular about who rents her apartments and insures that her antiques are treated well! The dining room table was large with room for 8. Linens were provided for the table.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

The beds were comfortable and made with beautiful linens. Extra linens were provided if one wished to change the bed. The bathrooms were a good size. One with a shower. The other with a tub and shower. You are expected to provide your own tiolet paper after the first, complementary roll is used.

Kitchen

The kitchen was well equipped with a four burner stove, oven, dish washer and all the tools one needs to prepare a full meal. Nice dishes and glassware were provided. A washer was provided in one of the bathrooms. An area outside the kitchen window had lines to hang clothes. An iron and ironing board were also provided.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

The owner spoke excellent English and replied to e-mail promptly.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

I would recommend this apartment. It is best for adults or those with older children.
