1bed/1bath apartment in San Palo, Venice WhenOctober 23, 2008, three months LocationThis apartment is right across the bridge from the front door of the Frari church above the Caffe del Frari. Nearby AmenitiesA new small Billa grocery store opened just around the corner. Lots of commercial services in this area. There is also a new Dersut caffe in the campo. The House/ApartmentThis building is in good condition. It's the only apartment over a caffe/bar which makes for some noise. The only negative aspect of this apartment is the music coming from the caffe. The music is not very loud for the most part but heavy base which we don't appreciate. There is also noise because it's a thorough fare and facing the campo but it makes for great people watching. The apartment is on two levels. There are 28 steps to the fist floor, which is a big sitting room/dining/kitchen. Up another 10 or so steps to the bedroom and bathroom. You can view the property directly:Frari Apartment. GardenNone. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe apartment was originally remodeled and furnished for the owner's occupation, hence, well done. It's very well furnished and very comfortable. It has well-kept hardwood floors with some oriental carpets. The apartment is very clean and our rental included weekly cleaning. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe bed is very comfortable. Plenty of storage space. The bathroom has shower, one sink, toilet and bidet. The water heater is right next to the bathroom, so plenty of hot water and good water pressure. KitchenI cooked all our meals in the apartment except for a couple of lunches and one dinner for the whole stay. I did buy a few small items. I never made coffee in the apartment but we went out every morning for our cappuccino and got to know the people at Ciak's. Problems or BonusesThis is a great apartment except for the noise from the caffe downstairs. It bothered us because we spent a lot of time in the apartment. Fortunately, the caffe/bar closed at around 9:00pm during our stay. We just got real tired of hearing the repetitive "boom, boom." Agency and Representatives (and price)Luxrest is a great agency to work with. We are working with them for another apartment to rent for later this year. I highly recommend them. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?I definitely recommend this apartment with the caveat regarding the caffe below. Things to do in this areaWhat can I say - it's Venice!!!!!!
