The process of renting the apartment went very smoothly with the agency Rental In Rome. The agency basically connects you to the owner who takes care of the rest. Another agency had cheaper apartments, but after reading many negative reviews, I decided against them. I will note however, that I was impressed when the manager of Rome City Apartments contacted me to provide assurances that he would personally take care of my rental because of my hesitation to book with them.

The owner of the apartment we eventually rented (through Rental In Rome) was very hospitable. She even brought us our stroller that the airline had lost and delivered to her. She also arranged for us to have clean towels and bedding halfway through our stay. A pleasure to deal with.

The apartment was an excellent location and size for us (two adults and two children). We were three minutes from Campo de Fiori where there is an open market. We were able to walk to all the main sites in Rome easily. It also had a tub which was rare among the other rentals.

There are a just a few things to note about the apartment although, these did not interfere with our enjoyment of the trip.

The apartment was in the festive part of town and a large road so it was a bit noisy at night, but not horrible. The apartment is on the top floor of a three story building with no elevator (not a big deal for most, but good to know). The apartment was obviously cleaned regularly, but when things rolled under the beds and furniture (we brought kids)they came out covered in dust. I cleaned under some of the furniture myself because my husband's asthma was activated by the hidden dust. The apartment has great character (some antiques et all), but is a also very rustic. The kitchen was furnished like a student apartment or cottage ... very eclectic.

In spite of these details we had an amazing trip and stay. It was our third time in Rome. We loved the people, the language, the food and the history. The locals were very kind to our children. (We have had negative experiences in Ireland and Scotland, and had a neutral experience in Paris with the young children.)
