Vacation rentals in Italy (villas, farms, estates, agriturismo, apartments)
Review 4035: Summer in Italy, Villa Fulvia
1bed/1bath apartment in Praiano, Campania
June 2008, 2 weeks
I can not say enough about this villa. The only draw back was the walk up hill. But that is true all along the Coast. The view was out of this world. It was much prettier than the pictures. It was all and more than I could have ever asked for. Summerinitaly are great people to work with. I will use them every time I go.
It was close to bus line, shops, stores, bars, eateries. But the view alone, you can not imagine. It was a relaxing and beautiful villa. The inside had all I needed to enjoy everything. The kitchen was so pretty. Huge bathroom with tub.
I was able to get fresh fruit and vegetables in the village, just down the hill, which was the best I have ever tasted. Meat and fresh breads, wine also. The little markets have all you will need. You can eat in or dine out. The bus line will take you everywhere along the coast.
The locals are so sweet and helpful. I do not speak any Italian. I was alone, but felt very, very safe at all times.
You need to take your time walking up the hill and down but it gets easier. At the foot of the hill is a coffee shop, places for groceries, places to dine, bus lines. Positano was just a few minutes away. It's a larger village. I did not need a car at all.
This was a fairly new Villa. All white and beautiful. I believe it was attached to two other units. I never heard anyone. The inside had all I needed to enjoy everything. The kitchen was so pretty. Huge bathroom with tub.
There was a patio and a terrace. Both with views to die for. The terrace also had a table to dine outside with sun chairs to relax in. The patio looked at Positano, and the islands. The sea was breathtaking. French doors looked out onto the patio with a view of the sea.
It was so pretty and white. Very nice dining room table and chairs, TV, great kitchen, king size bed. Very clean. Tile floors throughout.
The bed was king size and firm, not hard but felt great after a long day. I loved the huge bathroom, with tub, and lots of room.
The kitchen was perfect. I had all I needed. It also had a washing machine. They air dry clothes there. The sun makes them brighter. I would like to have same kitchen in my cottage here.

The view! The view! The view!
Agency and Representatives (and price)
Everything went perfect with Summer in Italy. They are great to work with. Price was more than reasonable. You get more than you expect.
Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?
I plan to go back, thinking about October. I will stay here for sure. I know the hill has to be taken slowly. I am 61 and very out of shape, and I made it a lot of times. Not for anyone that can not walk much. But you could take a cab up, or the bus runs right in front also. I didn't realize that until my fifth day there. The villa and the view are well worth the hill!
Things to do in this area
There are several places to dine right in Praiano, also the bus ride to Positano is only a few minutes. There are many, many places to eat there also. Great pastry shops also in Positano. My favorite place to dine was on the beach in Positano, Chez Blacks, the veal Marsala melts in your mouth. The service is perfect. The view of the sea, which is only steps away over takes you. Everyday, in Praiano, I stopped at "The Bar" and had my espresso out side.
