Apartments in converted farmhouse near Tavernuzze, Tuscany Chianti

November 2007, one week

This lovely villa, which dates back to the 1700s and is located in the hilltop town of Impruneta, which is about a 10 minute drive to Florence. The villa's owner lives on the property, which offers a selection of apartments for rent.

We stayed in the apartment called Tinaia. A two person apartment with a bath, shower, and kitchen. Walk outside and look over the hills of serene Tuscany, which in November was laced with the colors of fall and the silver of olive trees in the landscape. It was paradise to me. They do have an outdoor pool, which in November was closed of coarse. The apartment was clean and comfortable. The grounds lovely, and rustic and the owner is wonderful. She is a kind, informative and an accommodating hostess. I strongly recommend this to anyone seeking a reasonably priced rental in the hills of Tuscany.

We did not have a vehicle, so we walked down the hill to the nearest town of Tavernuzze. That took about 20 minutes and then took a bus into Florence, which took only a few minutes. However getting back at night proved a bit complicated. So renting a vehicle is probably a good idea. The website offers more details of course.
