apartment in historical center, Rome WhenOctober 2-7, 2002, 6 nights LocationThe location of this rental is very good. You are a short walk to the Campo de Fiori just down the wonderful shopping street, via Dei Giubbonari. Nearby AmenitiesMany stores, cafes and grocery stores are a short walk away. An abundance of restaurants are within a 5 min. walk. The House/ApartmentThe building was very old and quite worn. The steps to the apartment were somewhat scary and they were very worn. There was one other apartment in the building. GardenNo garden. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe furniture was old and worn. The T.V., stereo and jacuzzi tub did not work. A problem with the hot water (we had to go down to the laundry room and reset the hot water tank frequently) was fixed on the third day. The apartment was very dirty. A wipe of the floor changed the color of the cloth! The walls had marks on them. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe bed in the bedroom was comfortable. The children were ok with the sofa bed. The apartment had two bathrooms. One was just a toilet and sink. There was no toilet paper available on arrival. KitchenThe kitchen was very well equipped. Good stove and oven, lots of pots and pans and dished. Half size fridge. Meals were easily prepared. Problems or BonusesPast reviews talked of how wonderful the agency owner and his wife were. His wife is very nice but I found Mauro to be somewhat difficult to deal with. Yes, we were picked up at the airport as promised. No, we did not receive a cell phone until we asked a number of times and this was not provided until day 2. Once the owner had his money he was seemingly not interested dealing with us. We reported the things not working in the apartment and with the exception of the hot water nothing was fixed nor did he check to see if they were fixed. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?No I would not recommend this apartment. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
