apartment in historic center, Rome

Rome, 6 nights

Location

This apartment is centrally located in an area between Piazza Navona and the Vatican. It was a back street with a motorcycle repair shop across from it. The location was quiet at night but not well lit.

Nearby Amenities

Yes, shops and restaurants were close by.

The House/Apartment

The building was quite run down. There were three apartments in the building. The stairs to the apartment were circular and very narrow.

Garden

A small, private terrace garden was included. It was so crowded with plants that it was not comfortable to sit in.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The furniture was ok. The apartment was so cluttered that it was impossible to have room to set out your own things.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

The bed in the bedroom is a large single so if you are more than one you will need to use the futon in the livingroom which takes up pretty much all the livingroom. The bathroom was fine. It had a tub and shower.

Kitchen

The kitchen was very small. You could not prepare a full meal in it. You were unable to open the fridge door fully. The espresso pot was a single.

Problems or Bonuses

Upon expressing displeasure at the size of the apartment, the lack of a full bed etc. we were given a slight discount in price. The apartment is located on the second floor, up very narrow, circular steps. Not for the elderly or faint of heart. We were picked up at the airport but the promised cell phone did not arrive until the next day.
