2bed/2bath apartment near Termini, Rome WhenMay 2009, 10 days LocationThis was our first trip to Europe and we were three women traveling, so safety was a concern. We were concerned that being close to the Termini was not an ideal location, but it was perfect. All transportation begins and ends at the Termini. There are also secure ATMs, a Pharmacy and deli for food on the run.
Nearby AmenitiesInternet and small market just steps outside the building The House/ApartmentOlder building. Hotels and apartments share the building. Four stories with small lift. The apartment was really charming and very cute. It had everything we could want including a washing machine. It was also very secure with a metal door. The apartment had one room with a queen and its own bath and a second room with two twin beds (second bath is adjacent to kitchen). It also had a futon style couch in the living room. I would not consider using the futon for sleeping for adults. There was plenty of everything we needed for our stay. You can view the property directly: Milazzo. GardenNo garden, no view. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasVery clean. Beds were comfortable. Bedrooms/BathroomsBathrooms were great, but I still have a hard time figuring out how hot/cold functions in Italy. KitchenFully appointed kitchen. Tip: wine open in drawer in microwave cart. Problems or BonusesThe location was much better than we expected. Although the terminal is busy you don't hear any noise in the apartment. The neighborhood is also busy, but everyone was very nice and we felt safe. Again, being near the Termini is really very efficient. Agency and Representatives (and price)I had read several complaints about booking with Sleep in Italy, so I was a little concerned. My fears were unfounded. They were great to deal with and always available for questions. They arranged for our pick and return and everything was smooth. They were very understanding and patient. They provided emergency numbers for us and always answered the phones when we call. Their transportation service was prompt and reliable. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?Yes, We would recommend to anyone. It really was a perfect location and a generous space. I will never stay in a hotel again. This apartment was cleaner, bigger, more convenient and far less expensive. It is important to note that when we arrived at the apartment, the floors seemed dirty, so I swept and mopped them. I learned later that everything in Rome gets a little dusty by the end of the day, so don't be too judgmental of a little dust. It's just what happens in old buildings in the middle of a very big city. Things to do in this areaThe Taverna and Ristorante across the street was very good. The Termini is great for something quick in the morning (There is even a McDonald's) This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
