Review 4159: Owner, Podere Dadino
6bed/4bath house near Lucignano, Tuscany South
April 2009, 13 nights
My friends and I recently rented a country house near the very charming and quaint town of Lucignano, in Tuscany. The 4,000 square foot home is located off a dirt road approximately 400 meters from the main road and five miles from the A1. The house is very conveniently located for those who want to explore the nearby towns of Arezzo, Siena, Cortona, Montepluciano and the wine region. Florence is less than 1 hour away by car and 45 minutes by train.
Podere Dadino is completely renovated and my friends and I were amazed at the quality of the appliances and fixtures in this this home. The kitchen had Bosch appliances, great cooking utensils and lots plates, glassware and serve-ware. The bathrooms all had high quality fixtures (one bathroom even had a large, deep jacuzzi tub), new modern sinks and shower heads. All the windows are dual paned with new wood frames and come with screens to keep unwanted bugs out.
Each of the six bedrooms were tastefully decorated with the sheets and comforters coordinated to match the color scheme of that room. The mattresses were of high quality and very comfortable to rest on after a long day of sightseeing. Most of the bedrooms had a large armoire with shelves to store your clothes in, however, the master bedroom had its own large walk-in closet with built-in drawers.
The house also has a very comfortable living room as well as a separate TV/ game room and was well stocked with family games and DVDs. If that's not enough to keep one entertained, the owners also offer hundreds of books, ranging from non fiction to mysteries.
Although the interior of Podere Dadino is quite impressive, the real treat is how beautiful the two acre estate is landscaped. The lawn and plants are professionally maintained and there is a large herb garden which includes, rosemary, sage and thyme. I'm told that bougain villas are abundant throughout, but only a few buds had blossomed while I was there in April. There is a large pool for one to enjoy with good quality pool furniture. Nearby is a large iron table for people to dine al fresco during the summer months. My friends and I all agree the real secret to Podere Dadino is the outdoor brick pizza oven and bocce ball court. It just doesn't get any better than that!
As I conclude my review, I'm sure you can tell that my friends and I had a wonderful experience at Podere Dadino and would highly recommend this place to anyone hoping to rent a beautiful Tuscan place.
