Review 4184: Sleep In Italy, Montefiore
1bed/1bath apartment in Trastevere, Rome
June 16-25 2009, 9 nights
Trastevere is walking distance to everything in Rome, the only time we took the bus was to Termini to save time. The block we stayed on was quiet (by New York City standards.)The neighborhood was very nice for families or young travelers. It had everything.
Many restaurants, bars, pubs, trattorias, gelato, a tourist information center, supermarkets, and shopping all within three city blocks and hundreds more throughout the city very close by.
The apartment was very true to the pictures on the Sleep in Italy website. It had a historical homey feel.
You can view the property directly: Montefiore.
Everything was very clean when we arrived. The decor was old school Italian. Plenty of space in the living/dining room area. Was very happy with everything.
The bedroom was tiny. Enough for a double bed and a large wardrobe closet. Good enough for a place to crash at the end of a long day of sightseeing. The bathroom was clean, everything worked, and the stand up shower had an overhead rain shower head as well as a removable shower head.
We just used some glasses for juice in the morning, and the washing machine for a few loads of laundry. The stove and oven both worked but we didn't prepare anything with the cookware.
Problems or Bonuses
The only problem was that the air conditioner dripped if you left it on for long periods of time. Everything else was perfect.
Agency and Representatives (and price)
Sleep in Italy was really great. There representatives spoke very good English. They were the contact between me and the owner leading up to our trip and they interpreted for me on the phone with the owner on arrival. I got delayed two hours at the airport and they gladly contacted the owner and changed our arrival time with no problem.
Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?
I would stay here again in a heart beat. It was everything we wanted in an apartment. It was €95 a night in June, which was significantly cheaper then any hotel in the area.
Things to do in this area
You're in the heart of Rome, if you can't find something to do then you're not looking.
