Review 4233: Le Manzinaie, Apartment

Review by Rebecca T from UK

apartments on estate near Montepulciano, Tuscany South

July 09, one week

This accommodation was outside of Montepulciano and took about seven minutes in the car to get to the town but it was also close to the autostrada and train station which made extended sight seeing very easy.

The owners were very obliging about helping us to get around if we needed it.

There are about five apartments sharing a huge garden and on our side of the building we only were near one other door way so it did feel quite private although not totally, but as there were so few other guests we quite liked the situation.

The actual complex was isolated from any other buildings or neighbors and surrounded by green.

Nearby Amenities

You could walk in about 15 minutes to a bar and shop but the better ones were a drive away. The actual drive way of the property was quite long.

The House/Apartment

OK so there were about five apartments in total on the property and it was very quiet and peaceful. Every thing was immaculately cared for.

The ceilings were very high and the beds very comfortable and we had a lot of trouble waking up in the mornings.

The building was built in about 1875.

Each apartment had its own out door seating area and then there were shared areas as well. The pool was away from the apartments in a separate garden surrounded by Roses and sun flowers, with shady areas, wide green lawns and plenty of nice lounges.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

Yes, every thing was in good shape and plenty of it. Immaculately clean and very nice complimentary toiletries, shower caps etc. In the kitchen was salt and oil and tea and biscuits and most basics. Marzia made it clear that if we needed any thing at all to just ask her, I did want some garlic and she provided it immediately.

The bathrooms were very luxurious. We had a shower stall AND a jacuzzi bath, loo and bidet and two basins. The hot water was an unending torrent!

I wished we had another pillow but am sure I could have asked, otherwise the beds were heaven, it was really hard to get out of mine.

The kitchen was fine for cooking light meals. We never needed to cook huge meals as Marzia invited us to dinner with her family and the surrounding restaurants were amazing. I felt sure that if I lacked any thing Marzia would have some how provided it. There was a larger kitchen we used for the cooking lesson.

Problems or Bonuses

The surprise was how fantastic everything was. Well exceeded my expectations.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

We were referred directly to the owner by friends. We thought that what we got for the price was amazing.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

I would especially recommend this property for people who want to meet real Italians and feel connected with them.

Things to do in this area

We toured the wine cantinas in the area, had day trips to Siena and Florence, we had a hot air balloon ride which was incredible (but involved getting up very early). We went to Pienza and bought cheese (yummy).
