Review 4284: Owner, Casa Giulia Roma

Review by Dorota from Poland

1bed/1bath apartment near St. Peters, Rome

Front of the house, photo by Dorota

2-9 July 2009, one week

It was an apartment in a block of flats. The location was typical for the central part of Rome, nearby quite a big street. Traffic was not intensive and so there wasn't any noise. The great advantage was that the apartment was situated very close to the St Peter's Square and we didn't need to use public transport to go to the most important places in the city.

Nearby Amenities

Just nearby there were some shops where we could buy basic foods, fruits and vegetables. There was also a market with fruits and vegetables.

The House/Apartment

The building was relatively new. It looked nice. The entrance was from Rampa Brancaleone, that is not a typical street, but rather steps. After passing a gate we could enter the house. The apartment was on the first floor. Behind the door there was a square corridor. On the right, there was a bedroom with a double bed and a wardrobe. On the left side of the corridor there was a big room with a sofa (can sleep two) and a table with several chairs. On the left side of the room there was a bathroom with a shower, washbasin and a toilet seat. At the right side of the main room there was a kitchen with everything we needed. The apartment was peaceful and quiet. The house was not very big. There were six or eight apartments there.

There wasn't any outside sitting area.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The furniture was new, in good shape and comfortable. The apartment was clean. There were enough chairs for everyone.

The beds were comfortable. The bedroom was nice. The bathroom was clean.

The kitchen was small but usable. There were enough pots and dishes, of good quality. The kitchen was good for cooking full meals.

Problems or Bonuses

There were only good surprises. As we arrived late in the evening, we were received with some food for supper and breakfast. In the bathroom we found a very nice cut flower.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

Our host was very charming, friendly and helpful. We learned a lot from her about many details concerning sightseeing and public transport. She spoke very good English. The reality of the place accurately reflected the published information. We paid 600 per week (July) for the basic standard.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

The next time when we go to Rome we will stay here again. We do recommend the place to others, also to our best friends. The place was very comfortable, with all necessary things at hand. It was very close to the main places in Rome. We could pass nearby the St. Peter's Basilica several times a day. After dinner that we had at home we could go again for an evening walk without taking public transport.

Things to do in this area

We didn't go to restaurants or to shops. We concentrated only on sightseeing.
