Review 4304: Le Manzinaie, Apartment
apartments on an estate near Montepulciano, Tuscany South
Aug 31 to Sept 5, 2009, 5 nights
A lovely homey agritourismo run by a charming family. Well-located near many scenic hill towns in prime southern Tuscany wine country.
We have just returned from Tuscany and the glow continues. Montepulciano was a good area to base our excursions from. Picking Le Manzinaie as our home away form home was very fortunate. We liked it a lot and would go back.
We had a two bedroom apartment with full well-stocked kitchen. The hosts equipped it with some extras like good coffee and filters that lasted us most of our stay. Marzia, Fiore, and daughter Alice were always around and helpful charming hosts. They have several different size apartments and two separate houses on the lush property. The swimming pool is very pleasant to lounge at.
The hit of the week there was the cooking lesson followed by dinner with the other guests. It was part of the one week (in our case five nights) package. It was a lot of fun and we even learned some good recipes (think pici pasta and panzanella -- bread salad).
Our cost was €810 for five nights for four people.
