Review 4306: Bella Vita Italia, Villa Rocchetta
2bed/2bath house above Lerici, Liguria
September 2009, 7 days
My wife and I stayed at Villa Rocchetta (formally known as Villa Austen ) outside of Lerici in Liguria for seven days. We found it to be a very beautiful, very comfortable house. The location in Lerici makes it easy to visit all of Liguria and even parts of Tuscany. The Cinque Terre, Genova, Portovenere (which is right across the bay), Portofino, are all an easy drive, boat ride or short train ride away.
The view from the house, of Lerici and the Bay of Poets and the islands and hills beyond, are stunning. Morning, noon or night (especially sunset) the view will knock your socks off. With all there is to do and see in the area, it was hard to leave the house. And getting back for sunset was a must. This was not just a place to shower and sleep, it was part of the experience.
Megan from Bella Vita Italia is the property manager and she is a delight. Always happy to offer advice and suggestions. And the package of information she gives you is so helpful and answers many questions. A cell phone was even included.
Our wish would be to go back many times and brings friends so that they too can share in this special house and place. And one more shout out for the view. Nothing I say can come close to how spectacular it is in person. We just loved it!
