Review 4322: Owner, Beavita
2bed/1bath apartment in Padova, Veneto
1-29 October, 2009, 3+ weeks
We have stayed at Beavita on a previous trip to Italy, and enjoyed it so much we re-booked for this fall. The apartment is immaculate, everything is at your convenience, and the owners are thoughtful, fellow travelers who know how to make you feel comfortable. The area is delightful, and the apartment is very close to transportation to all parts of Italy.
We strongly recommend Beavita - it is a perfect spot from which to explore the Veneto region.
The Celso pastry shop is at the end of the street - so is the Ali grocery store. The pastry shop is famous in Padova for its desserts - and the Palm restaurant (again at the end of the street) is one of the best pizzerias in Padova.
The building is from the 1950-1960 era - the apartment is quite quiet (at the end of a street) in a 12 apartment building. The kitchen/dining/sitting room is a good size, with new windows and all modern kitchen appliances, including a washing machine.
The bedrooms (one double, one twin) are both more than adequate, and the bathroom, although small by North American standards, is immaculate and well thought out.
There is no garden or outside area adjacent to the apartment.
The furniture is in excellent shape, it is an immaculate apartment, and there is seating/sleeping for four people.
The beds were very comfortable -- the rooms are airy (new windows throughout the apartment), and the bathroom was immaculate, and tiled.
It is certainly a usable kitchen -- everything at hand - including a gas/electric stove, a full-size refrigerator and a microwave. You could certainly cook a full meal here -- but going out for dinner should not be excluded!
Problems or Bonuses
This is our second visit to Beavita -- if we had not found it to our standards, we would have 1) informed the owners after our previous visit, 2) not recommended it widely to our friends.
We will certainly return in the future -- Beavita is a delightful haven from which to explore this fascinating area of Italy.
Agency and Representatives (and price)
Dealt directly with the owner.
Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?
Our best friends came and stayed with us -- they have also traveled extensively and felt that they could not have done any better at a five star hotel. The fact that we have returned should be compliment enough.
Things to do in this area
Went to Venice, almost daily. Went to the Dolomites; toured Padova on foot and by tram, visited the Padova museums, enjoyed the weekly markets, visited Verona, and Lake Garda.
