Review 4349: Owner, La Gardenia

Review by Jay S from CA

3bed/2bath apartment in Todi, Umbria

10-06-09 to 10-16-09, 10 Days

The apartment is located near the center of the town. Todi is quite a beautiful place with great landscape. There are some great views of the countryside from the dining room balcony. Todi is a great location in Umbria to base yourself to do day trips to nearby towns such as Orvieto and Spoleto.

Nearby Amenities

Everything is within walking distance. We enjoyed our walks in the morning for a coffee and continued on to our favorite little grocery for our daily needs. A supermarket is within walking distance, just outside the city walls. There are quite a number of good restaurants within walking distance from the apartment.

The House/Apartment

The apartment was in an old medieval building, that is in excellent condition. The apartment is on the upper two levels of the building. There are three bedrooms, two baths (main bathroom was recently remodeled), living room, dining room, kitchen and a small tea room that had all antiques in it. The lower level is occupied by a married couple.

There is no garden, but there is a small balcony off the dining room.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The furniture is in excellent shape. The apartment was very comfortable and spacious. It was very clean. The dining room seats six people, plus other chairs in the bedrooms and living room if needed.

We only used the master bed, which was very comfortable. Extra blankets, towels and sheets are available in the apartment. The master bathroom had been recently remodeled and was very nice.

The kitchen was definitely set up for cooking with plenty of pots, pans, dishes and utensils. Everything was in good condition. We enjoyed cooking dinner five nights out of the ten that we were there.

Problems or Bonuses

This was our first time renting an apartment and felt it was a bonus not having to be at breakfast at a certain time (as in a hotel) and being able to have an early dinner if we didn't want to wait until 7:00 or 7:30 when the restaurants open.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

The owner speaks English and was very easy to work with via emails and phone in making our arrangements. He was very helpful and accommodating.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

We would highly recommend this apartment and we would definitely stay there again on our next trip to Todi. This was our third trip to Todi and really enjoyed staying in an apartment instead of a hotel.

Things to do in this area

We drove over a 1,000 km. doing day trips each day. We went into Central and Southern Tuscany, Lazio, and many places within Umbria. A few good restaurants in town are Restaurant Umbria, Donatello, and Trattoria Da Piero e Silvana (good Pizza).
