3bed/2bath apartment in Todi, Umbria WhenOctober 2009, A week LocationThis apartment is located in the lovely hill town of Todi. The town itself is worth several slow days of exploration and discovery. The spacious rooms, great kitchen, beautiful location and views of La Gardenia, made our stay as two couples, wonderful and memorable. The apartment is rented by the owner and he was helpful and generous from start to finish. The location is very central to the town centre but not on the main squares. We loved exploring the town and the countryside for the whole week we were there. Like all apartments in medieval towns, there are lots of stairs and you are living close to many other residents. For us, this was part of the reason and charm of this situation. Nearby AmenitiesYes, the apartment is located near shops, gelato shops, great coffee places, restaurants, grocery stores and everything you need for a great week. The House/ApartmentThe apartment is very ancient; it is a medieval property and is decorated very carefully. It was in very good shape, everything worked well and it is carefully maintained and clean. It shares the building with one other resident. GardenThere is a lovely little balcony with perfect views over the valley below ... it is not large but we sat four on it for lunches. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasYes, the furniture is all in great shape and very comfortable, clean and spacious. Bedrooms/BathroomsBeds were nice and firm and the bedrooms were large and nicely laid out. Two bathrooms, which though old, worked fine. KitchenThe kitchen was great; we cooked all week for four and it was terrific. Problems or BonusesThe apartment is part of a busy town and the street outside is busy and was a bit noisy on Saturday night but then settled during the week. Agency and Representatives (and price)The owner was very helpful and generous. He met us when we arrived and said farewell to us when we left. He has a very good grasp of English. The reality of the place exceeds the website. Prices were VERY reasonable in comparison to other prices. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?Yes, but not if you don't like stairs, walking (you have to park away from the apartment), some hustle in a street and the occasion church bell ... otherwise, you will feel like you have found the dream apartment in Umbria! Things to do in this areaWe explored other hill towns, spent days in Todi, great little museums, churches, shopping, walks around the walls and small streets and ate lots of gelato.
