apartments in Dorsoduro, Venice WhenMay 2000, 1 week ReviewSheila's review of the Palazzetto da Schio (#66) is accurate in every respect. The Dorsoduro is our favorite part of Venice -- fewer tourists, Venice's 2 greatest museums (in my opinion, anyway -- the Accademia and the Guggenheim), and restaurants that aren't tourist traps. The Palazzetto is a 5-mintute walk to the Salute vaporetto stop. The top floor 2bed/2bath apartment has a larger living room and more comfortable furniture than the one two floors below (American 2nd floor, Italian 1st floor, as Sheila points out). Both 2bed/2bath apts. look out on a lovely small canal, whereas the 1bed/1bath faces the garden in the back. Our kitchen was small and fairly dark but adequate -- certainly not a problem. We can't wait to return, especially to experience Venice in the winter. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
