Review 4460: Le Manzinaie, Apartment
apartments on an estate near Montepulciano, Tuscany South
October 2009, 2 weeks
We recently returned from a two week stay at Podere le Manzinaie. We chose it based on its facilities, location and the reviews listed on various websites.
The reviews, as great as they were, did not truly do justice to the place and especially the owners, Fiore, Marzia and their daughter, Alice. These are three unbelievable people whose warmth and generosity made our stay a memorable experience.
Knowing that we were arriving late in the day, they stocked our refrigerator with enough food for a sumptuous breakfast. During our stay we were made to feel as part of their family. The property is beautifully maintained and the accommodations are both charming and spotlessly clean.
Some of the paintings on the walls have been down by Marzia, an accomplished artist. The dinner, prepared by the family in their home and shared with other guests visiting at that time, was one of the most memorable highlights we have had in our travels.
Alice's book of various itineraries plus her help in arranging train tickets, reservations to the various sights in Florence as well as the wine and cheese tours made our touring stress-free.
We would certainly recommend Le Manzinaie to anyone who wants something unique in their travels.
