apartments on a farm near Pienza, Tuscany South When2010, 6 days Nearby AmenitiesA beautiful three mile walk for those in fair shape, about a four minute drive to Pienza for groceries or restaurants. The House/ApartmentThe setting is a Tuscan farm house with ancient Olive trees at the driveway, a view that presents the best of Tuscany from any angle. About four other units are in the building. No other guest could be heard while they occupied the other spaces and the setting, day and night, could only be disturbed by the clucking of wild pheasants. GardenWonderful sitting areas! Privacy could be had, but you'll want to share your time sitting with your neighbors to enjoy their adventures. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasEverything was clean, inside and out. Wonderful fireplace with furnished fire starter and any wood needed. Bedrooms/BathroomsSlept as if we were in our king bed at home! One bath. KitchenPlenty of utensils and pots, olive oil to cook with and coffee for the moka! Problems or BonusesThe joy of enjoying coffee from the Moka ! Agency and Representatives (and price)If Tuscany is in your plans for Italy, I urge you to spend it at Cretaiole. The warmth of the Moricciani family alone is enough to make you enjoy your stay, but their assistance and experience in knowing what their region has to offer will make the most of your time. My advice would be to follow Isa's advice in her itineraries. Have a good map and take the small roads with no time constraints and discover what Pienza and the region has to offer. Eat at the smallest places, struggle with the language, and enjoy the warmth of the people as they welcome you into their lives. No one could top Isabella as a hostess or other members of the family. Isa has wonderful language skills that include English. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?Absolutely recommend and urge one to do everything possible to secure this as your place to stay. Things to do in this areaStrolled the streets of small walled hill towns, drank the best coffee, ate at the most unexpected family hosted places, and drove the back roads. Eat at Sette Di Vino in Pienza. Let the proprietor pick and serve your food! Enjoy the adventure. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
