Location

Our one week stay at Cretaiole followed a busy week in Rome. As the Grandma, traveling with my 10-year old grandson and his parents, it was the perfect finale to an amazing trip to Italy. Highlights included the Romitorio (ancient Italy - awesome), Isabella's pici-making class (and feast), an olive oil testing and an Easter Monday feast. Isabella, Carlo and Luciano were the quintessential hosts, always eager to answer questions, and always available. Between our hosts and the incredible views in Tuscany (not to mention the food and wine), I'd highly recommend this as an ideal stop on an Italian holiday.

Nearby Amenities

Full kitchen in our apartment, supplied with coffee. Five-minute drive to Pienza for restaurants, groceries and shopping.

The House/Apartment

Built in the 1300's and fully representative of old world country charm, with a fireplace and phenomenal views of the valley. Peaceful and quiet with a central living/dining/kitchen area.

Garden

Beautiful grounds with plenty of outdoor seating/lounging. No pool needed!

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

Furniture was fine. Plenty of space, firewood provided.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

Extremely comfortable beds! Best nights' sleep I've had in years!

Kitchen

Fully stocked kitchen. Not much cooking done, but certainly could have.

Problems or Bonuses

Wonderful surprises at every turn. Our hosts gave daily opportunities to experience Tuscany with pasta making, tours, olive oil tasting - a host of activities.
