Review 4519: Owner, La Gardenia

Review by David L from Australia

3bed/2bath apartment in Todi, Umbria

October 09, 1 week

La Gardenia is situated in the beautiful hilltop town of Todi easily accessible by bus, train and car. It is situated in the top two floors of the building.

Nearby Amenities

Todi is a compact town with all conveniences within walking distance.

The House/Apartment

La Gardenia is situated in a medieval building and was beautifully furnished especially the formal tea room. The house was very quiet, the peace only broken by church bells. Stairs lead to the bottom floor consisting of the bedrooms, bathroom and tea room. Upstairs was the kitchen, dining room, lounge, second toilet and the balcony.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

All the furnishings were of a high standard and comfortable. The house was very clean.

Our bed was really comfortable and the window opened to great views.

We ate in every night and the large kitchen had all the necessary equipment.

Problems or Bonuses

The tea room was a wonderful room furnished with antiques and we enjoyed having our tea in there every day. Sitting on the balcony overlooking the town and valley, sipping wine and listening to Andrea Bocelli was a highpoint as well.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

Carlo, met us and helped us to the house. He speaks very good English and is very helpful. His website is a true indication of what you get and we were really pleased with the rent.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

We were really happy with La Gardenia and raved about it to all our friends and highly recommend it to everyone. Having a car would make the stay here much more pleasurable as there is so much to do around Todi.

Things to do in this area

We had our own car and had to park it just outside the town walls about an eight minute walk away. Restaurants, pizza bars, bars were close by and the supermarket a 15 minute walk. We took the bus into Rome for a great day of sightseeing, we drove to all the small, interesting towns nearby and spent a lovely day in Spoleto. A highlight for us was visiting the Mamore waterfall near Terni. The cascades are opened on weekends and the views are spectacular.
