Review 4524: Dolce Roma, Colosseum View 1
2bed/2bath apartment near Colosseum, Rome
March 2010, 5 days
My wife, niece (age 13), and I spent five days in the Dolce Roma Colosseo 1 Rome apartment during our niece's Easter break ... March 26 thru March 31, 2010.
The apartment location was very convenient to the Colosseum, the forum, Vittorio Emanuele monument, and public transportation (subway and bus). Local grocery stores and restaurants were numerous and were extremely good ... especially Hostaria Isodoro. Shopping was also readily accessible near the Piazza San Giovanni and my wife and niece were very happy with both the stores and prices.
The owners, Natalia & Walter, were spectacular! They met us at the apartment after we were dropped off by the driver they had arranged for us from Fuimicino Airport. The apartment was spotless and fully equipped. Our niece was ecstatic about having her own bedroom and bathroom, since she is a twin and has been used to sharing since the day she was born ... and the queen size bed was an extra bonus. The location was our second choice since the Campo dei Fiori apartment Natalia & Walter own was already booked for our travel dates. To be honest we have no regrets and found the location to be outstanding and would not change a thing!
We also arranged a tour of the Sabina olive oil region with Natalia on Sunday, March 28, and had an experience we will never forget. The medieval town of Casperia, the lunch, the rolling hills and springtime blossoms made the the day a memorable one. If you have time to spend a day in the countryside outside of Rome you need to take this excursion ... it was incredible!!! And the lunch Natalia arranged for us was one of the highlights of not just the day, but the entire trip.
I can't say enough about Natalia and Walter and their hospitality and beautiful apartment. We have been doing the apartment accommodation now for our last two trips and have enjoyed it immensely over hotel accommodations. I would highly recommend Dolce Roma for any visit to Rome and make sure to do a day trip with Natalia to the olive oil region In Sabina ... words do not do it justice.
Thanks so much Natalia and Walter for such a memorable vacation!!!
