1bed/1bath apartment near Spanish Steps, Rome WhenApril 2010, 8 nights LocationApartment was central to all of the historic sites in Rome. We were near the Spanish steps and could walk everywhere. Nearby AmenitiesGrocery stores within in a couple of blocks and restaurants as close as across the street. The House/ApartmentApartment was in an older building by California standards not by Rome standards. There was an elevator that we loved after a long day of sightseeing. The bedroom was a loft which worked out fine for us since there was just the two of us. The kitchen worked great as we cooked all of our dinners and breakfast in. Washer was great and we enjoyed having wireless Internet. GardenNo outside area but big windows. Apartment felt very open with all of the big windows. It is true to what the pictures show. I loved morning coffee sitting on a stool by the window that the morning sun came in and watching the people going to work down below. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasEverything was in good shape and met our needs. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe bed was great! Because of being a loft we bumped our heads a couple of times on the beams but we got used to it. KitchenKitchen worked very good. Yes we did cook in it and I found everything I needed to put together simple dinners. I had a problem lighting the stove at first but the owner left detailed instructions for everything so I got it out and read how to light it and was able to solve the problem right away. Problems or BonusesThe apartment was great. The pictures are true it has a very open feel to it. The owner left very detailed instructions for everything and how to get to stores and places. We took his advice and visited the town of Orvieto from Rome and loved the day out of the city. The owner was very easy to contact and always emailed right back. Agency and Representatives (and price)The owner was very good at staying in touch with us and answering all of our questions. He even arranged a car to pick us up at the airport. We were met on time at the apartment by a couple that let us in and told us about the apartment and gave us the keys. The husband spoke English well. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others? We would stay here again if we wanted to be near all the tourist spots in Rome. It is in the city so their are city noises. Closing the windows does block most of the noise out. It has a great central location! This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
