2bed/2bath apartment near Campo dei Fiori, Rome WhenMay 13-20, 2010, 1 week LocationWe stayed in the Blue apartment. The building is located on Via dei Giubbonai, which is equal distance from Campo dei Fiori and Via Arenula. Perfect location. No automobile traffic, but lots of pedestrian traffic. Nearby AmenitiesEverything you could possibly want was within walking distance of this apartment. The House/ApartmentI do not know if the building is historical. The building was in very good shape, with a small elevator. The apartment had double paned windows in both bedrooms, which faced the street. With the windows closed, the bedrooms were very quiet at night. The living room also faced the street, but the windows were not double paned. We were never bothered by the noise in there. There was a nice foyer with a wardrobe for coats. The kitchen and living room were all in one space, but very roomy for two people. There were two bedrooms - one with a queen size bed and one with two twins. The master bedroom was en suite, with a tub/shower and the washing machine. Very nice size bathroom. The second bath was off the hall - only a shower, but very nice. There are five apartments in the building that are owned by Cristina. There are additional apartments, but I do not know the total number. GardenNo outside sitting area. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe furniture was in good shape, but the upholstery on the living room sofas needs refreshing in the near future. The two sofas in the living room were very comfortable. I believe one was a pull-out sofa. The apartment was very clean. Plenty of seating for at least four people - two good size sofas. Bedrooms/BathroomsBeds were very comfortable. Master bedroom large with a nice window overlooking the street. Both baths were in good condition with plenty of hot water. KitchenThe kitchen was very nice. Small refrigerator, cook-top, oven, microwave, and dishwasher. We did not cook meals, but plenty of dishes and glasses for eating breakfast in the morning. Problems or BonusesOne good surprise was how nice the washer/dryer was. The washer was in the master bathroom and was very good. The dryer was near the kitchen and worked very well. The nicest washer and dryer I have ever had in Italy. Agency and Representatives (and price)Cristina is wonderful! Easy to communicate with and very accessible - her office is in the building. She spoke very good English. The website accurately reflected the apartment. We paid €205 per night, with a discount. I think our total was €1385 for the week. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?I recommend it without hesitation. Things to do in this areaEverything is nearby. Campo dei Fiori, Via Arenula and Largo Argentina are all close by. Lots of restaurants, grocery stores, and shops close by. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
