Review 4615: Le Manzinaie, Apartment

Review by AnnaGris from Ontario, Canada

apartments on an estate near Montepulciano, Tuscany South

May, 2010, 1 week

A trip to Tuscany is not complete without a stay at an Agriturismo just off the A1 highway two hours north of Rome, between Montepulciano and Cortona. Le Manzinaie has been our "home away from home" five times in the past 10 years. It is run very efficiently by the owners, Fiore and Marzia along with their daughter, Alice, who live on the premises and do their utmost to make their guests comfortable, happy and more than satisfied with all the information, refreshments, and help offered at any time of the year. A highlight of the week is the complementary four or five course dinner prepared and served by the owners for all the guests.

There are four self-contained apartments and two villas within an enclosed perimeter. Two of the apartments have one bedroom and one bath each and two are for two couples with two bedrooms and two baths, while the villas have two to three bedrooms and baths. There are flower gardens galore, covered gazebos, large swimming pool, covered parking and many attractions in the vicinity to make a holiday stay one to remember. The grounds are impeccable, the security is superb and the vegetable/fruit garden offers guests fruit and vegetables as the seasons permit.

One of our trips included our children and grandchildren (16 months and 10 months). Besides sightseeing in Montepulciano and Cortona, we spent a day in Siena and another in Florence (aka Firenze) as well as another day in the shopping mall very close to our accommodation. Everyone was thrilled and plan to return.
