2bed/2bath apartment in Cefalu, Sicily When26 June to 3 July 2010, 1 week LocationIt was a wonderful experience staying at this property in a historical building in the heart of Cefalu. It was walking distance to the beach, Cathedral, shops and restaurants. It enhanced the experience being able to feel the pulse of this wonderful small coastal town in Sicily. Nearby AmenitiesYes. Coffee, restaurants within walking distance, including grocery stores. The House/ApartmentYes, Casa del Nobile is in a historical building in the heart of old town Cefalu. It was very quiet with a perfect layout of 2Bed/2Bath, each on opposite corners of the apartment. Fully equipped kitchen. No clothes washer and dryer, but a laundromat within walking distance. Comfortable living/dining room with TV. It's on top, third floor. You can view the property directly: Casa del Nobile. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe furniture was in good shape and comfortable. The unit was clean when we arrived. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe master bedroom had a large bed. The second bedroom had two twin beds. They were comfortable. Air conditioning in both bedrooms and living/dining room area. The bathrooms were large enough and comfortable. Hot and cold water at all times. KitchenThe kitchen came with the basic cooking utensils and pots/pans. Gas stove and oven. Everything was clean. We cooked every day. Problems or BonusesIt would have been convenient to have a clothes washer and dryer. The unit is sunny with lots of windows. It does not have a sit-down balcony. Agency and Representatives (and price)Massimo and his staff treated me very well at all times. Massimo and his multi-lingual staff were very professional, honest, helpful and responsive from booking to checking out of Casa del Nobile. The property was exactly as advertised in their web site. They also helped us to book day tours/trips, provided maps and sightseeing recommendations. They know the area very well. If I had any questions, I could just drop in to the agency and they were always willing to help. I would do business with Massimo and Sicilian Realty again. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?I would certainly stay there again if back in the Cefalu area. I would recommend it hands-down to my immediate family and friends. Things to do in this areaVisited the Cathedral and the cloisters, went to daily Mass, mingled with the locals, went to the beach, ate at local restaurants, got a haircut, took a day trip/tour to Mt. Etna and Taormina, walked the back streets and commercial area of the town, took local buses, visited the Santuario di Gibilmanna, rented a scooter and visited the nearby towns. Ate local food. Relaxed. Made friends. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
