1bed/1bath apartment just outside city walls, Florence

When

Summer 2002, 2 weeks

Location

The apartment is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, just outside the city walls, a short 10 minute walk to the Uffizi and Piazza della Signoria.

Nearby Amenities

We were able to find everything around us. There is a COOP grocery store just down the street, many great cafés, restaurants and shops. There is a bus stop just at the corner, which will take you all the way to the train station or the Market in about 8-10 minutes.

The House/Apartment

The apartment is small (by North American standards), but just fine for a couple. It is located in a small building with 5 other apartments. The area is clean and safe.

Garden

There is a private and charming little garden with table and chairs. Absolutely perfect after a long day! We took full advantage of the garden; we would sit there to plan our day, have coffee and even had dinner on many occasions.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The furniture is in good condition. There is a huge armoire, which is perfect to put away clothing and luggage.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

The sofa-bed was actually surprisingly comfortable. The bathroom was small, but adequate. No bathtub, but a shower with very good water pressure!

Kitchen

Very small, but fully equipped, with a door leading to the garden.

Problems or Bonuses

We had no problems at all. A bonus: the owner, Gianni, is an extremely nice gentleman who will help his visitors in any way he can. He has maps, books, pamphlets, a great knowledge of his city and even had a basket of fresh fruit for us!

Agency and Representatives (and price)

Only sent one email, and we were in direct contact with the apartment's owner, who speaks very good English. We then had to send a 30% deposit and paid for the rest in cash on arrival.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

ABSOLUTELY!!!
