2bed/2bath apartment near Campo dei Fiori, Rome Whenfrom september 25 until september 29, 2010, 4 nights ReviewThe Farnese apartment is one of the nicest apartments I have ever been in. It is big, with very high ceilings and a beautiful wooden floor. You feel as if you are in a museum or at least in a place of someone who has collected lots of beautiful art-like objects, sculptures, paintings, classical/ antique furniture and very comfortable couches. And I also felt directly at home. The apartment is really in the old city center of Rome around the corner of the famous Campo dei Fiori. From the apartment, which is on the first floor of the building, you have a perfect view over the Piazza Farnese. Right under the apartment is a very good restaurant and beside there is a small bar. Groceries, a very good bakery and a lot of different bars, restaurant and a tabacco shop are all within 100 meters of the apartment. We (three daughters and their parents) have been here because of the anniversary of my parents' marriage (50 years!). They had the master bedroom, which was huge and with a comfortable (bit high) king size bed. They had their own bathroom. We had the other bedroom with a two person bed and a loft with another 2 person bed. We had our own bathroom. The bus stop for the electric (small) bus is right on the piazza Farnese and the bus stop for the normal buses and the 'hop-on-hop-off' buses is about 50 meters walk. All very convenient for my father (80 years) who can no longer walk very long. All contacts with the owner of the apartment were very good. She arranged a transfer for us from Ciampino airport and we could even use her laptop with WiFi form the apartment. Although the price was high for us, I am very happy that we have been in this apartment. It was incredibly cool! This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
