3bed/4bath house near Certaldo, Tuscany Chianti

When

10/02/10-10/09/10, 1 week

Location

Villa Sella is in a beautiful location in Sciano. Centrally located to everything you might want to visit Siena, Florence and Chianti. It was very private with a large gated courtyard and plenty of parking and a private pool. The home is tastefully decorated and had everything we needed. Full kitchen, washer and dryer, music and the most wonderful terrace overlooking the vineyards and rolling hills of Tuscany.

Nearby Amenities

We drove to the the restaurants and the grocery store. Only a quick trip to get anywhere we needed. The PAM grocery store was large and had everything we needed and then some.

The House/Apartment

The building is historical and beautifully done. There are three bedrooms each with a spacious bath and another 3/4 bath downstairs. There is a lovely living room and kitchen downstairs with one of the bedrooms. The two upstairs bedrooms are very large with beautiful windows overlooking the grounds and views as far as the eye can see, truly breathtaking! There is another rental on the property but the layout is so perfect we didn't even know where it was.

Garden

The outside terrace was spacious with table and chairs for eight to 10. A BBQ with everything you need to cook if you desire. The villa has a private pool with lounge chairs. The pictures aren't able to capture the charm and amazing character of this villa.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The furnishings were thoughtful and Architectural Digest worthy. The owners spared no expense and it shows. There was more than enough room for the four of us and we could have easily accommodated another couple but loved having all the room to ourselves!

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

The beds and linens were incredibly comfortable. Again, the layout, furnishings were thoughtful and very tasteful.

Kitchen

We had planned to eat out more often than we did. We enjoyed our days exploring the region but truly wanted to get back to the villa and enjoy our time there. We cooked dinner at home four out of our seven nights. The kitchen was well planned and had everything we needed to prepare dinner. A large refrigerator, dishwasher, plenty of cookware and all of the makings of a great kitchen.

Problems or Bonuses

It was better than we had expected, we couldn't have ask for a more perfect villa or location.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

We booked Villa Sella through Rentvillas. We dealt with Patrica who was wonderful throughout the process. She sent us a package as soon as we booked and her follow through was amazing, She checked in with us periodically leading up to our departure to answer any questions we may have. This is a fantastic company. I would always book a vacation home with them as well as refer anyone looking to book a home or apartment in Europe. You would be hard pressed to find a better company.

The owner Elizabeth was warm and welcoming. She truly made our stay one memories are made of.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

This was a return visit to Tuscany for us. I will never stay anywhere else but Villa Sella in Tuscany, and would arrange travel around it's availability. We spent 2+ weeks in Italy and the week at Villa Sella was the highlight of our trip.

Things to do in this area

We visited Siena. Chianti, Florence and Pisa. We were so centrally located we actually went back to Siena for a second day.
