Review 4835: Owner, Casa Flavia
1bed/1bath apartment in Orvieto, Umbria
July 2010, Six nights
The apartment is located off the Corso Cavour, the main through fare up towards the Duomo. Roberta, the owner, greets you at Piazza Cahen to take you to the apartment.
Lots of restaurants, cafes, small shops, and fairly decent grocery store all in five to ten minutes walking.
The apartment is very spacious and was in good shape. Heard the other tenants a few times but for the most part very quiet. Had to go up a short flight of stairs to reach the apartment.
There is a wonderful large private patio with table and chairs. It was a great place to relax, read and sip wine.
Everything was in good shape and very clean. The apartment was cleaned once during our stay and fresh towels and linen was also provided. There is small sofa in the sitting area, which is fine for two adults. There was also a small dining table with four chairs.
There is also a washing machine just outside the bedroom leading to the patio.
The bed was very, very comfortable! The bedroom was very large and had a huge closet and a decent sized bureau. There was also a small twin bed in the bedroom. There was air conditioner in the bedroom and it worked very well during our stay. The bathroom was fine but does have a small shower, no tub.
The kitchen was compact but usable. Enough pots, pans, and dishes for two people to make a simple meal. One very sharp knife, which was a bonus. It had a four burner stove, full sized fridge, and a small table. There was some salt and sugar but that was all for supplies.
Problems or Bonuses
The photos on the web site are accurate in depicting the apartment.
Agency and Representatives (and price)
Roberta responded promptly to all emails. She very easy to work with. She does request a deposit through PayPal and the balance when you arrive. Total cost was €500 for six nights for July 2010.
Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?
Yes! It was a excellent place to relax and enjoy Orvieto.
Things to do in this area
We enjoyed staying in Orvieto and wandering around the town. We purchased the Orvieto Carta Unica and then proceeded to see all the sites on the card. It was a challenge but we did it. We did not have a car which meant we didn't travel much in Umbria except for a day trip to Civita de Bagnoregio.
