2bed/2bath apartment in Trastevere, Rome WhenNovember 2010, 1 week LocationLocated in the Trastevere area of Rome which is close to the historic centre so we walked almost everywhere. When we did travel to the Colosseum, there was a bus not too far from the apartment. There was a playground close by at the market and lots of food shops. It was a bit noisy at night but with the windows and shutters closed this was mostly blocked it out but not entirely. It is an authentic Roman area. Very historic and beautiful with heaps of character. Nearby AmenitiesYou can walk to everything and there is a large variety of smaller shops and supermarkets, cafes and restaurants. The House/ApartmentA beautiful old building but with modern fittings inside. It is a corner apartment so overlooks three streets including a church opposite. GardenNo garden or outside sitting area but there is a playground with seating nearby. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasExtremely comfortable and long couch. Beds were also excellent. Very clean mostly although the second bathroom had some mold around the window so we had to keep that door shut as it did smell a bit. Bedrooms/BathroomsBedrooms were both comfortable and very spacious with excellent light. KitchenThe kitchen was small but very functional and enjoyable to use. Some supplies of coffee, sugar and salt were left for us, which was helpful. The pots and pans were a bit scratched and seemed not to have lids but we certainly had enough to manage. Problems or BonusesA little noisy at night occasionally but you are living in a big city and it certainly wouldn't stop me staying there again. Agency and Representatives (and price)The representative we booked with via email was excellent and accommodating and the person who met us, Stephano, was so friendly and helpful. We had actually booked another apartment with them that had a last minute plumbing problem so they contacted us and offered us this one for the same money, which was an upgrade for us. It had more space and a washing machine, which was great but it was on the third floor with no elevator so Stephano carried up two of our cases! He came around when we needed some help with a toilet that kept running and offered us use of an Internet stick as well. I was very happy with Domus and Stephano's service. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?I would definitely recommend it to a friend but with the warning that it is noisy at times. Things to do in this areaYour area is Rome so there was loads to see and we walked almost everywhere. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
