Review by PotenzaRon from CA

2bed/2bath near apartment Piazza Navona, Rome

November 2010, 3 nights

Apartment is located on Via dei Governo Vecchio a short walk from Piazza Navona. The apartment is located on the second (Italian first) floor at the rear of the building. There is a secure entrance at street level into the lobby leading to the stairs and elevator.

Nearby Amenities

Very convenient location within easy walking distance to supermarket, restaurants, bars, etc. Via Vittorio Emmanuele which has frequent, convenient bus service is two blocks away.

The House/Apartment

There was construction going on in the lobby of the building which did not disturb us but we were there only on Friday through Sunday. The apartment is at the rear of the building and there was some noise from a trattoria located in the alleyway about a block from the windows. Really not too disturbing though.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

Very well furnished and comfortable. Very clean apartment with plenty of seating for several people.

The master bedroom with a king size bed and a bathroom en suite was in a loft area. The bed was fine and the bath was quite nice with a shower above the tub. The second bedroom was on the main floor with twin beds and a nearby bath with stall shower. All above were quite satisfactory.

Small kitchen that seemed quite serviceable. We used it only for breakfast and a light lunch but it seemed fine for those who wanted to cook full meals. There were plenty of utensils, plates, pots/pans and glasses.

Problems or Bonuses

Pretty much as advertised. Check the reviews on VRBO, they are all pretty accurate and positive. I thought it might be noisy because of the location on Via Governo Vecchio but was pleased at how private and quiet it was.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

Agency was prompt and accurate in all our dealings. We were met by a rep, Nor, at the apt after we called from the train station (they knew about when we were arriving). She spoke English quite well, was pleasant and gave us her home phone in the event of problems (there were none). She also arranged for limo service at 5:30am to the airport for 45. The service was prompt and the Mercedes was fine.

The rental cost for three nights for three was 780, 130 was paid upon reservation by credit card and the balance in cash upon arrival.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

Yes, very satisfactory rental. Right in the middle of things and convenient walking distance to many attractions. No problems and everything went smoothly.

Things to do in this area

We walked everywhere it seemed. Navona, Pantheon, Trevi, Trastevere, Vatican, Campo di Fiori and up and down side streets and sat for great people watching. Saw a number of churches we had not noticed before but no museums.

A trattoria that we loved that is not on the tourist trail is Sor'Eva on Piazza della Rovere on the Vatican side south of the S. Spiritu hospital and Ponte Principe A di Savoia. I plan to write a review.
