1bed/1bath house in Civitella Marittima, Tuscany West When14-21 May 2011, 1 week LocationThe house "Casina Di Rosa" is a surprise. From the outside you don't expect what you get inside, but that is how the houses are built in Civitella Marittima. To us it was if we were thrown back in time. Tiny little streets, people living next to each other. The apartment is in the old centre of Civitella Marittima. Friendly people, helpful but as a foreigner you have to try to make yourself clear. There's only a few people who are talking a few words English. Use hand and feet and they will know what you mean. We loved having breakfast in the sun right in front of the door. A pity that you can't sit in the sun in the evening but who cares when you have dinner in one of the restaurants? Nearby AmenitiesThere are a few restaurants in Civitella Marittima. All OK for a fair price and good food. Bring your dictionary! For serious shopping you got to drive a few kilometers, but that was OK for us. For daily stuff CM has some little shops inside the old town. Beautiful! The House/ApartmentThe apartment has one big kitchen with all you need, a new fridge, a good stove/oven and everything you need for preparing a nice meal. Next is the room with big bed, TV, and nice fauteuils (open arm chair), which can be built into a bed. There is a bathroom, not big, but with all you need. (toilet, bidet, shower). The apartment itself has been rebuilt to modern standards with all you need to stay there. Cool in the summer and when there is a cold day, you can heat the stove or the airco. You also can jump into bed, which is very good. Not too soft, not too hard. The water pressure is not too high, but enough to get water and a warm shower. GardenThere is no garden, you live in it..... Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasEverything was in perfect shape. Clean and complete. Bedrooms/Bathroomsread above. KitchenRead above. Perfect kitchen. Problems or BonusesWater pressure was low, but that's living in a place like that, everything goes a little bit slower. (which is good for your health...) Agency and Representatives (and price)The owners were OK. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?Absolutely. When we should give a mark, Civitella Marittima and Casina Di Rosa both gets a 9! Things to do in this areaFrom here it's only a short drive to lots of interesting places in Tuscany. Our highlights were Siena, Pisa, the Brunello surroundings, Montepulciano and Pienza.
