3bed/2bath apartment near the Pantheon, Rome

When

March 25, 2011, 9 nights

Location

Looking left out the windows on the "street" side, you can see the pillars of the Pantheon. Fantastic location!

Nearby Amenities

Great little coffee house right across the way from the apartment, several grocery stores within a 10 minute walk at the most. Lots of restaurants all over, plenty of tourist traps but some good ones also.

The House/Apartment

The apartment was in good condition, not fancy but very comfortable for six people. The one bedroom on the street side was noisy as was reported to us by our two teen boys who stayed in this room. The two bedrooms facing the courtyard were very quiet, except for the birds that occasionally decided to be noisy.

There is a: kitchen, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, large living/dining room,study/office, entry way. (two bedrooms with two twin beds in each, one bedroom with a queen bed).

You can view the apartment directly: Seminario.

Garden

There is a small balcony, not really for sitting out on, but good for drying clothes and getting a nice breeze or air into the room.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

A couch and two chairs along with a large dining room table with six chairs in the living room. We were all comfortable at the end of the day with the seating.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

Beds were very comfortable, the bedrooms were of good size and there was plenty of storage for our suitcases and clothing. Bathrooms were fine, not a lot of storage as seems to be usual for Europe, but there was some shelving in the bathroom I used but am not sure about the other bathroom. One bathroom had a shower, toilet, bidet, sink. The other bathroom which was an en suite had a tub.

Kitchen

Good kitchen, plenty of storage and cooking utensils/pots/pans, etc... the only downside was the sink didn't have hot water. May have been a temporary thing? It wasn't a huge deal as there was an electric tea pot that we could heat water in. Something we enjoyed was the drying cupboard above the sink, took us a couple of days to figure that one out, but we thought it was great. Don't have those here.

Problems or Bonuses

The elevator was very nice to have if you didn't feel like using the stairs, great for my parents at the end of a long day!

This is not fancy but a solid value with a great location in central Roma, bus stop that we used all the time a five minute walk away.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

We went through Sleep in Italy, they were very nice to work with. Answered all email questions quickly and I always felt I was getting an honest answer. The owners live on site and are very friendly and helpful.

We paid 2390 for nine nights in late March of 2011. Balance paid in cash on arrival to the owner. There were no extra charges for cleaning, electricity, etc. They do want a damage deposit on arrival that you receive back on departure.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

Could not beat the location and the owners are the best. We would definitely stay here again and I can recommend it to anyone that is looking for a place to spread out, other apartments I have stayed in were much smaller. Of course we had six people this time but the rooms are a very nice size. I think Americans that are used to larger spaces would be very comfortable here. This is a solid value in a great location, not fancy or luxurious but comfortable.

I can't emphasize enough how nice the owners were, I liked the fact that they live on site.

Things to do in this area

You are located literally 50 meters from the Pantheon, Giotti's famous gelato is a 5-10 minute walk from the apartment, Piazza Navona 10 minutes, etc. Torre Largo Argentina bus stop five minutes, we used this all the time. Lots of stuff to do right around the apartment if you look at a map.
