Location

It took about two hours to drive from Rome. It was 10 minutes from Montepulciano, and about an hour from Siena. It was a very private building on a small crops farm, close enough to town but far away enough to be quiet and private.

Nearby Amenities

Need to drive for coffee, groceries, etc., but not very far.

The House/Apartment

We stayed in the Girasole apartment, which was a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment on the ground floor of the renovated farm house. It was fascinating as it was a very old building with vaulted ceilings. There are only four apartments on the ground floor, very quiet and private, each with their own entrance. You don't hear other people at all.

Garden

The gardens were magnificent, lots of room for the children to run and play, very safe and very beautiful. The pool was lovely. It was nice to be able to walk around the flowers and vegetable patches, and orchard.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The beds were the most comfortable in all of Europe! Everything was clean, there was plenty of room for all of us and everything was clean and lovely. Beautiful paintings and decorations on the walls.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

The beds were superb, so comfortable and loads of pillows and blankets, lovely artwork on the walls, very homely and very Tuscan! The bathrooms were huge and the big bath was a spa bath too. Everything was clean.

Kitchen

The kitchen was brilliant, we cooked full meals for our family.

Problems or Bonuses

The owners are delightful and gave us perfect directions to all local attractions and facilities, very handy when the GPS doesn't work! When we arrived we were given snacks and drinks and there was some food supplied in the fridge and pantry area, which was greatly appreciated. The family dinner was wonderful. This is the best, most 'family friendly' place we stayed at during our five week European holiday.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

I dealt directly with Alice, who is the daughter of the owners. Her English is perfect. The reality of the place was even better than the published information. I can't remember the price but it was cheaper than many others, and was excellent value.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

Absolutely, and I have been telling all of my friends about it. We will go back there ourselves one day, we loved it!

Things to do in this area

Montepulciano is gorgeous.
