Review 5130: Rentvillas, Villa Rezzonico

Review by Ron from US

8bed/8bath villa near Menaggio, Lombardy

August 27 - September 3, 2011, 1 week

The estate is within 100 yards of Lake Como in the community of San Siro Italy. The villa is located about 2 km from the famous town of Menaggio nestled amongst a string of tiny villages that make up the community of San Siro. A very authentic Italian experience.

The estate is very private as it is entirely fenced in and separate from the community. However, the villa is connected by a great network of walkable trails and paths that place you in the heart of the local community.

The most beautiful and peaceful view in the world from the front porch of the villa.

Nearby Amenities

There are several small grocery stores and good local restaurants in the nearby villages. I would recommend having access to a car however as there are plenty of sites, activities and attractions that require ground transportation.

The House/Apartment

The villa has been owned by the same family since it was built in the 19th century. The house has eight bedrooms, each with its own en suite bathroom. The house is absolutely gorgeous and immaculately kept. Not a detail missed.

We traveled with 16 people and never once did it feel crowded. The house is laid out perfectly for entertaining and yet there is ample space to hide away for some private time should you need it.

You can view the property directly: Villa Rezzonico.

The grounds are spectacular. Swimming pool, tennis court, olive trees, apple trees, pear trees, grape vines, vegetable garden - you name it.

We ate dinner almost every night on the front terrace over looking Lake Como. What an experience!

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The house was well appointed and very clean.

The beds were very comfortable and the rooms well furnished and decorated.

The kitchen is professional grade more than suitable for feeding and entertaining a large crowd. Everything in the kitchen is modern and up to date. The wine cellar located just outside the kitchen was fully stocked with Italian wines, beer, spirits and prosecco.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

The agency is very professional and quite responsive to customer requests and questions.

The onsite person was absolutely charming and most professional. Check in was a breeze as was check out. The onsite property manager spoke excellent English and was available every morning except Sunday for consultation and guidance.

I couldn't ask for a more friendly and helpful staff. The chef was excellent and a real joy to talk to.

This is a very expensive property, a once in a lifetime trip for most. Yet, I would have to say that the property was worth every penny that we paid. The best vacation of my life.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

I would have stayed here forever if I could.
