Vacation rentals in Italy (villas, farms, estates, agriturismo, apartments)
Review 5170: Owner, #304501
1bed/1bath apartment near Campo dei Fiori, Rome
October 2011, 4 nights
Right off Via Giulia a few blocks from Piazza Farnese and Campo dei Fiori in the heart of the historic center of Rome. Also located adjacent to the ring road and river. Part of an apartment complex. The street on which it is located is a dead end so very little car traffic. Well located for walking everywhere.
Close to a bar and supermarkets as well as the Campo dei Fiori so there are plenty of choices to shop for all types of food. Obviously lots of restaurants from which to choose. All are within walking distance.
Quiet street with only noise on one nights from people hanging out near an outdoor restaurant. A number of apartments are located in the immediate area. The apartment is two levels with sitting room and kitchen on street level and bedroom and bath on first floor.
No garden or outside sitting area.
Apartment was clean and furniture was okay although not the most comfortable in the world.
Bed was fine and comfortable. Bathroom was adequate with nice stall shower.
Kitchen is very small with limited quantity of dishes, pots pans, etc. We used kitchen only for breakfast and snacks. Would be limited if occupants wanted to cook main meals in the kitchen.
Problems or Bonuses
The steps leading to bedroom and quite narrow and a bit steep. Caution is needed in coming down particularly if carrying luggage, etc.
Agency and Representatives (and price)
Christina speaks very good English and is very efficient and responds quickly to any requests. She was on hand when we arrived and arranged for a very satisfactory limo to the airport early in the morning. The apartment was essentially reflected accurately in the online information.
Cost was €115 nightly plus a cleaning charge of €30.
Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?
For two people this apartment was fine for a limited stay. Any more than two would be quite crowded. I was concerned about the proximity to the ring road as far as noise was concerned. Not a problem either during the day or at night. The best part of the apartment is its convenient location.
Things to do in this area
We walked everywhere ... Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Vatican, Trastevere. I don't think you would want a car. We have always stayed in the Navona area but this apartment's location is equally convenient.
